体長2 mm 程度。体は黄色。頭部は幅広く，長さよりも幅が大きい。大あごには4歯をもち，それらの先端はいずれも尖る。触角は11節からなり，触角柄節は頭部後縁に達しない．眼は5-6個の個眼からなる。側方から見て前胸から中胸にかけての胸部背縁はほぼ直線状。前伸腹節背縁もほぼ直線状で，後縁は丸みをおびる。胸部背縁は比較的多くの軟毛でおおわれる。
ミツバアリ亜属 Rhizomyrma に含まれる。巣中にはRhizoecinae亜科の好蟻性カイガラムシEumyrmococcus kinomurai が見られる。南西諸島の石垣島からのみ得られている。
