本種はインド北西部から東南アジアの大陸部および島嶼部を経て、中国南部、台湾および日本の沖縄本島にかけて分布する。日本産の種はWard (2001)により同定された。
日本産の標本は沖縄本島北部より脱翅した雌アリが１個体のみ得られている。体長は10 mm前後で，体色は黒色。ナガフシアリ属としては大形の種。大あごは5つの歯をもつ。頭盾前縁の中央部には2つの弱い突起がある。この標本は樹木でのスウィ−ピングによって採集されたもので、破損が著しく，頭部の外形は変形しており，働きアリも採集されていないため，一時的に飛来した個体の可能性もある。
