Description
|
|
Worker caste polymorphic. Large ants: total length of major workers usually over 10 mm, and of minor workers over 8 mm. Mandibles with 4 or 5 teeth. Anterior margin of clypeus straight; either not produced forwards or very slightly produced.

Japanese species are as follows: C. hemichlaena Yasumatsu & Brown, C. japonicus Mayr, C. obscuripes Mayr, C. sachalinensis Forel, C. yessensis Yasumatsu & Brown, C. sp. 6 (sensu Myrmecological Society of Japan Editorial Committee, 1991).
