Description
|
|
Total length of workers around 2.5 mm. Head and mesosoma reddish brown to brown; gaster dark brown; mandibles, antennae and legs yellow to yellowish brown. Head longer than wide; eyes situated more anteriorly than in T. albipes. Mandibles each with around 15 serrate teeth; apical tooth largest, the basal smallest. Antennal scapes only slightly exceeding posterior margin of head. Surface of head and mesosoma microreticulate, gaster very weakly microreticulate. Mesosoma and gaster without erect hairs.

Remarks
|
|
This species nests in dead twigs and dead bamboo stems. Nuptial flights take place on September. It is distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu, but very rare in Hokkaido (known from one record only) (Onoyama, 1989).
