Description
|
|
Species in the subgenus Cautolasius are yellow body colored in workers. Maxillary palpi are short, not reaching the neck. Petiolar spiracles are present at upper portion of petiolar scale.

Remarks
|
|
These are terrestrial, and engage in mutualism with root-feeding aphids. Their food is predominantly honey-dew obtained from aphid symbionts.
Three species are included in this subgenus as follows: L. flavus, L. sonobei, L. talpa.
