Description

Remarks
The absence of subapical teeth on the mandibles is unique to this species among Japanese Strumigenys, so that it is easily distinguished from the others. This species was not nominated in Myrmecological Society of Japan Editorial Committee (1988) and is corresponding to S. sp. 8 in the first (1995 in Japanese) edition of this database. Rare in Japan - with only one record to data, from the floor of broadleaf forest in northern Okinawa Island.
