Remarks
|
|
Pristomyrmex comprises about 40 described species (Bolton, 1981): 5 Afrotropical (Bolton, 1981); 2 Madigascar (Brown, 1971); 6 Australian (Taylor, 1965, 1968b), and more than 20 in the Oriental Region and Melanesia. The Oriental fauna is not well understood taxonomically. Two species, P. pungens and P. yaeyamensis, have been recorded from Japan.
