Monomorium flavigaster (Clark, 1938 Ref.299): 366 - Worker; Type locality: Reevesby Island [34/136], South Australia (Xiphomyrmex flavigaster) (Current Combination(s): Taylor; 1987b Ref.4212: 2). The generic placement of this species is unresolved. Heterick; 2001 Ref.96-0649: 401 correctly concluded that it does not belong in Monomorium or Tetramorium (= Xiphomyrmex), but was unable to assign it to another described genus.
